Social Values
Our love for Whitby goes back many years, inspiring us to make the move here in 2025 so we can support and invest in this amazing community. We’re dedicated to playing our part in helping Whitby flourish, now and for the future.

Whitby has a rich heritage as a historic fishing town, its identity shaped for generations by the sea. Over the years, it has evolved into a vibrant and popular tourist destination, welcoming thousands of visitors who come to enjoy its stunning coastline, history, and culture.
Yet, like many coastal and tourist-dependent communities, Whitby faces significant challenges beneath its thriving tourism sector. The popularity of tourism has driven up the cost of living, pricing many locals out of housing and everyday essentials. Job opportunities beyond tourism and service roles remain limited, making it difficult for residents to build sustainable, long-term careers, especially for younger people.
These pressures can strain the very fabric of the community, leaving people with fewer choices and a sense of insecurity about the future. Despite this, the people of Whitby continue to show resilience and pride in their town, working hard to protect its character and support one another. We believe in helping to build a stronger, more balanced future for Whitby — one where growth benefits everyone, opportunities are more diverse, and the town’s rich heritage and community spirit remain at its heart.
